A spam of OFTDs and a little note attached along with it if my mind is jolted to write something.
And……….it’s May already?! Since the last I actually wrote something, I’ve been extremely tied up with work. The late hours of 3am, cab rides, meetings, quotations are pretty much the daily routine up till now, this very second as I’m typing this. Because if I were to be at work, this entry would not have happened.
Upon attempting to blog again, I silently vow to myself to blog more about blogshop reviews. Which did not quite happen due to work. I can only blame this on the convenience of instagram since hashtags and filters are so easy.
Lets talk about work, shall we? Just crossed my 3rd month employment and I’m blessed to say that I think I’ve pretty much settled in office. Am able to deal with stress much better as I have been able to sleep quite well, I hope. Or I could have really just tire myself out from the 7 days a week, 18 hours a day work life. Yes, welcome to the exhibition and events industry where all you thought was glamour. Last week, my team took charge of the DBS Marina Regatta and here are some of the snippets.
So thankful the event is over. Fengster put me in-charge of graphics and boy oh boy, it was tough job having to liaise with the graphic designer, client, graphic artist and manage all the comments and opinions. And in the midst of this event, I had an NEA tender to submit which tender documents could easily be mistaken as a 10 year series.

Thank God that HVV launched such a beautiful collection this morning, that made the work day bearable. And obviously, the unsurmountable stress has got me bingeing on clothes! I purchased the Poppy Floral Minidress in Ivory, Malibu Ruched Toga in Ruby, Poetry Scallop Dress in Pink and Black, Marina Laser Cut Blouse in Coral and Sunburst Maxi in Teal. Wanted to take the spree further with the lounge waterfall jacket but work was piling :(
Skipped lunch today because I had a few follow-up order forms to submit (due to confirmation of a booth) and soon after, had to rush off to Pagoda street for a meeting. Manage to pop by Maccas and bought my first seaweed shaker fries! It taste really good when the fries are hot. But after all, it really dehydrates your mouth alot. Well, at least now I can say that I have tried. Was working on costing till 7pm before I finally call it a day and decided on milk for dinner. Does this happen to everyone? When you are extremely stressed and busy with work, you just lose your appetite entirely? Because I know of many who would start bingeing on food instead. Eg, chocolates.

“Don’t lose who you are in the blur of the stars. Seeing is deceiving, dreaming is believing, It’s okay not to be okay. Sometimes it’s hard to follow your heart. Tears don’t mean you’re losing, everybody’s bruising. Just be true to who you are!” - Jessie J.
ITS APRIL! How quick time flies. Been a whirlwind since work started. Well, lets see what happened the past week.
Last week was so-not-my week at all but I’m glad that I manage to pull through with amazing and wonderful colleagues. And since I knew I wasn’t able to make it down to Reebonz sale, I bought a Balenciaga Part-time in Gris Poivre. Yes yes, I know I was deciding between a Balenciaga Velo and YSL Muse. But, I got sold at the color.

A much needed drink in the company of amazing friends were fulfilled at 1Altitude yet again :)

My weekends were nothing fanciful, neither routine. I attended Bobby’s mum’s cousin’s funeral to be there for Mama Chen, as well as see if there is anything I can help out with (my uncle does funeral services - The Resting Place). The body was lying at Mt Vernon, Grace hall and it was a peaceful quiet setting. I started crying on the way there because I was reminded so much of my Grandpa’s funeral, of which until this date, I can still vividly remember the moment I came to knowledge that my Grandpa’s hospitalised, to the moment I found out that my family kept his death from me. I have forgave them (duhh!) because they had me at heart. What I am right now, being able to call myself a graduate, is undoubtedly because I gave up the last chance to say my goodbyes to my Grandpa. A regret which I will never be able to forgive myself. Anyhow, the burial was today at CCK and I pray that God will continue showering His blessings onto his bereaved wife and family.
Was at PAUL’s on Sat with my mother. Should have not been stubborn and listen to the reviews because, yes, it is that bad. And perhaps being there caused me to have acute eczema, I reckon it would take me a while before I have thoughts of heading back. Behold, extremely disgusting photos of my right arm.

Day 1: After visiting A&E Gleneagles.

Day 2: After applying and taking oral medication prescribed by Gleneagles.

Day 3 morning: Visitation from my family doctor. Got a jab.

Day 3 night: SO MUCH BETTER ALREADY! LOVE MY FAMILY DOCTOR!
He even gave me 2 days MC! How nice. But due to piling amount of work to be cleared and 2 meeting with clients this week, I got to head back to work tomorrow. Oh wells.
Would love to blog more but antihistamine is taking its effect.
Till then, BE SAFE! x
Have been extremely absent-minded these days and Bobby can definitely attest to that. Or basically anyone hanging out or making plans with me actually. For example, a BBQ that I personally planned for, almost foiled in my own absent mindedness. On Friday, I utterly forgot about it and did not order food. Thankfully for BBQ Wholesale (and for Bobby who reminded me), I manage to place order for food in time. Did I mention that they have very yummy sambal sotongs? Great catching up with teamnssa’11 and with friends like that, you know they are for life. Was supposed to drop Yi Huey, Chris and Chun off at Eunos station but because we are spontaneous and impromtu like that, we headed off to Thomson for prata instead.

Was in control of the car on Sunday so I dropped the boyfriend off for his law revision class before heading to Hot Slimming Yoga class - which btw, killed me. Somehow, this appears to be more challenging than Body Opening and Back Bend. Played a dutiful grand daughter and sent Granny to buy lottery and lunch before heading home to shower up for an afternoon of Sunday Goodness at Festive Hotel Spa Republic. Thanks to www.deal.com.sg, my mum and I got to enjoy 72% off Body & Soul Rejuvenating treatment. Usual price at $316, we purchased this deal at $88/person and with that, we got to enjoy body exfoliation and nourishment, full body detoxifying massage and an appetizing dessert to end off the session. My mother loved it and it was her first spa treatment. We have been engaging in many mother-daughter activities and I am glad that she’s enjoying herself.

Picked the boy up from his lessons and we headed to Irodori for dinner since we have japanese food craving for nearly 2 weeks. Food was good however, the service is getting very disappointing. So, we are on a hunt to look for good Japanese restaurant. Please do recommend :)

Hinted to the boy about flying to Seoul for the new year countdown for about 2 weeks since that time of the year is a quiet period for both our industries. I hope that travel plan works out well and I strongly pray for journey mercy. Started our monday morning horribly bad but no way are we going to allow that to dictate the flow of our week. Note to self: think happy thoughts! And is anyone attending the Reebonz mega sale? Surinder and I have RSVP for Friday at 6pm to spend our moolah on heavily discounted branded bags! I am thinking Balenciaga Velo or YSL muse :) See you there x

Today is one of those days that is quite a norm in my industry.
“Mad rush since the moment I got out of work and trying to dress up whilst replying to my client’s emails. Could not even hold a proper conversation or show care to my boy whom’s not well and yet still sends me work because I was replying emails on iPad during the ride. Then came into office to rush out a powerpoint for a presentation on Monday - its kind of a huge deal for me because its 54sqm. In between that, received email from my team leader that I have a new client for FHA and a quotation needs to be done and sent by today. So it was forwarding designs to carpenters and printers for cost. And because today is Friday, we have to submt WIP and I had to make courtesy calls to clients who were suppose to give me formal confirmation by today. And while trying to get everything together, my phone keeps ringing”.
Point is, I had lunch at 3pm and I missed dinner yesterday because I forgot to eat. Point is, I did not sleep last night because I refuse to pop the pills prescribed to me. Point is, after lunch, I have nothing more to do than blog. Point is, I am really tired.
Can you tell?
Re: Commendation of Charlotte Cortina Grace Lim 10:46 AM (12 minutes ago) to client.services
Hi Proenza Schouler Hope this email finds you well. I would like to commend a fantabulous employee of Proenza Schouler, Charlotte Cortina. What happened was..
Made a purchase from Aloha Rag in July 2011 and in last Nov, due to stitching issues, I sent it back to Aloha Rag. The customer service support at Aloha Rag said that the bag is to be sent to Proenza Schouler headquarters for repair and given that period of the year, Proenza Schouler was preparing for a new collection. Thus, the repair had many a times been delayed. I had clear understanding of the situation and was pleased that Aloha Rag was providing me status updates. On 4 Jan, receiving news that I will be returning back to Singapore, I provided Aloha Rag my Singapore shipping address for the repaired bag to be posted to, On 5 Jan, Aloha Rag acknowledged the change in shipping address and told me that they will pass on the new address to Proenza Schouler. Then, there was a long period of silence and Aloha Rag’s replies to me were that Mercedez, the person-in-charge of the case was away or that she has not gotten back to them. To me, there were excuses. Finally on 21 March, I receive an explanation from Aloha Rag that my repaired bag had been shipped to the Melbourne address, and a person named A. Wilson had signed it. I then became very flustered and angry as Aloha Rag failed to provide me a practical solution to what has happened. As a customer who sent her bag for repair base on the receiving company’s account of credibility, I started losing faith in online shopping and the entire repair process had been tiring and daunting. At night, 21 March, I decided to call Proenza Schouler headquarters and my call was forwarded to Charlotte Cortina. She listened to my story, sympathise with my frustrations, and provided me steps in reaching a resolution. I forwarded her my correspondences between Aloha Rag and it did not take her too long to give me a satisfactory reply. Charlotte Cortina’s excellent customer service is indeed and worth praising. What she has demonstrated yesterday night during the conversation sets the benchmark of what true and real customer service is all about.
Thank you, Proenza Schouler for maintaining such good quality and standards for customer services in your employees. And a big thank you to Charlotte Cortina for restoring my faith in online shoping. Have a blessed weekend! x
Been too long since a post. Many things worth documenting has happened over the period of my last post till now. Sadly, the time for blogging has now become a luxury.
Lets talk about what has changed since my last post, shall we?
One: I’m employed! Yes, finally joined the workforce full time at Pico Arts International on 8th February. I have to agree that this job ain’t what I have imagined it to be. Had a hard time adjusting and coping with the stress and management style. I thank God that my family and Bobby have been very supportive during the first few weeks. My mother even bought me a Balenciaga Mid-city as a present :) Well, if you actually knowmy mum, she’s a preduent and thrifty woman. Spending any aount above $1K on bags just seems audacious to her. So now you know, I was really in a bad terrible state.
Two: My mother and I are now membersof Real Yoga. Ever since I begin work, I had sleeping disorders and in my tiny attempt to correct the disorder, and to have some mother-daughter bonding time, my mother and I decided to give it a shot at yoga. And to my surprise, we both really enjoy Yoga time and you reckon that I would be such a motivator to encourage my mother for every session but I beg to differ. It is, truly otherwise :)
Three: Yoga sessions did tire me out but failed to cure my sleeping disorder. So one fine day, I decided to head to my family doctor and figure out whats wrong with me. After a 20minutes consultation with my doctor, well, I’ve been diagonsed with mild drepression. He tried to pin-point the source through the 20mins consultation but was unable to and concluded that perhaps I was just overwhelmed with my life, in terms of the shift from Australia, work, family etc. He prescribed me sleeping aids and should they not work, I have to make another trip to him to get a referal for a ‘Sleep doctor’. In other words, psychiatrist. I never knew things would turn so bad but after talking to a few of my close Singapore-Aussie friends, mild drepression seems to be a normal case for most of us. For now, I really need to take things light and easy.
Four: We have made reservations at db Bistro Moderne for the rest of the year already! The first of every month :) I believe that as much as we should start our day right, we should also start our month right (actually, just another reasonI conjure up to head to db). Very excited for our April db date and Jeffery told us tht he’s going to preprare something really special :*)
Five: I RECEIVED MY FIRST BOUQUET FROM BOBBY CHEN! When we headed for our March db date, he came to pick me up from work and sneakily took out the bouquet from under his seat. You should have seen my face! Beyond words that I can describe. Period.
Six: I have a steep learning curve at Pico and I am truly blessed with extremely helpful colleagues. After coming to 2 months in Pico, I am better at what I’m doing and everyday is a constant learning journey. Yes, I do have days where I do not have much on hand to do (like today!thus the blogging) but when the work comes, gosh, 11pm just seems possible on the schedule.
Seven: Being quite settled down at work now, I am starting to make time for my friends. Have been meeting up with the usual suspects and the boys and I have planned for a BBQ at Don’s this Sat which I’m very excited for. I’m thankful for extremely spontaneous friends!
Ok, so thats the gist of what has been going on in my life.
Till then, take care x
